01 — Questions
Most women arrive at this page with the same handful of questions, about privacy, about how to prepare, about what they are actually committing to. The answers here are honest, straightforward, and written to help you feel clear before you decide anything.
02 — Your questions
Most of the questions that come up before a session follow a familiar pattern. We have gathered the most common ones here, organised by topic. Take your time with them.
Almost everyone does. Nerves settle quickly once you are in the space and the pace of the session is entirely yours. You will not be rushed or pushed past what feels comfortable.
Most people arrive feeling exactly that way. The session is built around women who have never done this before. Everything is explained as you go and nothing is assumed.
Not at all. Direction is part of what the session includes. You will never be left to work it out alone or asked to do something that doesn't feel natural.
No. Most of our boudoir clients choose to wear lingerie, but what you wear is entirely up to you. Some women bring bodysuits, robes, knitwear, an oversized shirt, or even a favourite dress — whatever makes them feel confident and comfortable.
We don't generally photograph nude images during our boudoir sessions. Fine art nude photography is available as a separate session and is arranged in advance for those specifically looking for that style of portraiture.
Whatever you choose, you'll never be asked to wear or do anything that doesn't feel right for you.
That is completely fine. Nothing is ever locked in ahead of time and you are free to make decisions as the session unfolds. There is no pressure in any direction.
A guide is sent ahead of the session with everything you need to know. You do not need to prepare beyond that.
To help create a relaxed and comfortable environment, we don't allow spectators during the photoshoot itself.
However, you're very welcome to bring a friend or partner to your image viewing appointment immediately after the session if you'd like support when choosing your favourite portraits and artwork.
If you have any concerns about attending on your own, please let us know before your session and we'll be happy to discuss them with you.
All final images are carefully edited for tone and light. Skin retouching is done with a considered, natural hand — the aim is always to look like you on your best day, not someone else entirely.
Photo Nottingham is based in the village of Awsworth, Nottinghamshire, just 5 minutes from Junction 26 of the M1.
Our studio is housed in a beautiful former Victorian school, providing a unique, private, and welcoming setting for your boudoir experience.
There's plenty of free onsite parking, so you can arrive, relax, and enjoy your day without worrying about finding a space.
Yes. Nothing is shared without your explicit written consent. Your images belong to you and stay completely private unless you choose otherwise.
Absolutely. A simple request at any point ensures your images remain entirely your own. Many clients prefer this and it is always honoured without question.
You'll choose your favourite portraits and products at your viewing appointment immediately after your session. Payment is due at that time.
If you'd prefer to spread the cost, we offer flexible payment options including in-house payment plans and Klarna (subject to approval). We'll be happy to explain the options available to you before you make any decisions.
There is no minimum spend and no obligation to purchase anything you don't absolutely love.
Most of our clients invest around the £1,000 range in their portraits, although collections are available at a range of price points to suit different budgets.
We also offer flexible payment options, including in-house payment plans and Klarna (subject to approval), allowing many clients to spread the cost over time.
When you view your images, we'll guide you through the available options and answer any questions, but there is never any pressure to buy. Our goal is simply to help you choose the portraits that mean the most to you.
The session fee covers your time in the studio, professional direction and styling guidance, and your viewing appointment. Image collections and artwork are chosen separately at your viewing.
We post every order within 3 working days. The voucher arrives as a beautifully presented physical card and brochure. If your order is urgent — for a birthday or anniversary — call Michelle directly on 0115 924 3995 and we'll do what we can.
12 months from the date of purchase. That gives plenty of time to choose a date that feels right, without any pressure to rush into it.
It covers the studio credit — the amount she has to spend on her final artwork. The shoot itself, hair and makeup, and the full experience are all included in the voucher. The £250 is hers to spend on prints, wall art, or albums at the viewing.
She absolutely can. The £250 is a credit, not a cap. If she falls in love with more images than it covers, she can add to it at the viewing. There's no obligation — but it does happen.
Yes. The voucher is for the experience, not a specific person. If circumstances change, it can be passed on. Just get in touch and we'll update the details.
If you have been thinking about a boudoir shoot and wondering whether this could feel right for you, this is a simple place to start. A discovery call gives you space to ask questions, talk things through, and get a feel for it without pressure.
Occasional notes on the experience, real stories from the studio, and quiet inspiration sent to your inbox. Never frequent enough to feel like noise.
Thank you. We will be in touch, gently.
